Michael represented over two thousand medical professionals who were members of a professional organization that provided tax planning, a donor advised charitable foundation, and disability insurance. Due to the creativity of the organization, the Department of Justice took the unprecedented action of (1) seizing all the assets and (2) temporarily restraining all further activity of the organization. Michael was part of the team of lawyers that succeeded in having the restraining order reversed and settling all government claims against the organization and its members.
Michael has extensive experience representing U.S. individuals, foreign financial advisors, lawyers, and bankers who were involved in the crack-down on Swiss banks and their U.S. account holders.
Michael has also testified as an expert witness in cases involving effective client representation and tax compliance matters, and has served as a mediator in tax disputes.
